It is your responsibility to keep your hair silky, healthy shiny and to the last long. Unlike your natural hair, your extension does not have the magic of obtaining the natural oils from the scalp. Therefore, their wefts are dry, and it is only you who can give them some careful attention.
Here is how you can care and keep your Brazilian Remy hair extension, by properly washing them:
First, you will need items such as a soft bristle brush, comb, and a low pH, sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. After you have gathered all these, you can be sure to begin the washing process.
The Cleaning Process
First, brush your hair before washing it, to remove any naturally occurring tangle s and frizzed, which may have been caused by the wind. This will ease the process of cleaning, as you will not have to both wash the hair while removing the tangles. Another reason you should brush the hair before getting it wet is that the hair follicles are more vulnerable in damp hair, and may also break.
Gently wash the hair, and in a downward direction using your palms. While washing, do not rub the hair together, causing them to bunch up, as that may cause friction within them, which as they rub against each other, causing breakage.
At this point, you will use an organic, sulfate-free hair shampoo, to avoid the drying of the hair. Sulfate is known for its stripping of natural oils from the hair, leaving it dry and unhealthy. You will only wash your Brazilian Remy hair with warm water, to avoid the damaging of the hair cuticles and the scalp.
Ensure that you rinse between every wash, and wash 12 to 3 times.
While the hair is still wet, add about five drops of coconut oil, or almond oil or any other natural oils of your choice, and rub them evenly and gently over the hair. The oils will add some moisture and penetrate the cuticles to make your hair healthy.
Natural oils are the best, and they work well with a variety of conditioners. Without adding any chemicals or silicones, natural oils are the best.
You shall then rinse your hair with cold water, by lowering the shower head close to the hair. This is called a cold rinse, which is meant to leave you with hair full of nutrients now.
After that, you have to let your Brazilian Remy hair dry naturally, without applying any kind of heat. Heat will swell the strands before drying them,
